On invoices, quotes and receipts
15 minutes · 5 steps
Add a review line to your invoice template (Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent) so it appears on every invoice.
- 01
Find your invoice template
Xero: Settings → Invoice settings → branding theme. Xero — invoice templates explained. QuickBooks Online: Settings (gear) → Custom form styles → edit your invoice style. QuickBooks — customise invoices. FreeAgent: open an invoice → "Set default additional text". FreeAgent — add default text.
- 02
Add the review line to the footer
Add a line such as "Leave a quick review — yourbusiness.example/w/your-slug", below your bank details. In Xero it's the "Terms & payment advice" footer. In QuickBooks it's the Content tab → footer. In FreeAgent it's the "Additional text" box.
- 03
For a scannable QR, know the limits
Only Xero supports a separate QR image: download an Advanced (.docx) branding theme, insert your QR PNG in Word, and re-upload. QuickBooks and FreeAgent allow only one image (the logo), so build the QR into the logo or use the text link.
- 04
Set it as the default
Set the template as the default for your brand (or use "set default additional text" in FreeAgent) so every future invoice includes it. Otherwise it won't carry over to the next invoice.
- 05
Test it
Save a draft, export to PDF, open it on your phone and tap the link (or scan the QR).
